North Walsham Community Shop

FOR the community, BY the community

Latest news

Supporting Good Neighbours

North Walsham Community Shop was established to support our local community. Up until now we have focused on helping groups and projects. With the current health crisis approaching us all, we want to be able to support the community that supports us.

Yesterday we were pleased to issue an emergency grant of £500 to North Walsham Good Neighbours Scheme, who will be playing an active role in supporting those in need, with shopping, medication and other vital services. That would otherwise be unavailable to our communities most vulnerable. Their leaflet posted here explains how they can help and how we can all get involved as volunteers.

The Community Shop will continue to help where possible and during this time please look after yourselves and each other.

DVDs, CDs and LPs

We have lots of games, DVDs, CDs and LPs in stock at the moment. Why not pop in for a browse in our 100% volunteer run community shop

A successful 2019

North Walsham’s Community Shop has just completed its second year of trading.

Our 100% volunteer run shop was established to raise funds to support local groups and events and to date it has been able to give out  £30,970 in 58 grants.

It’s success has been built on what we like to call ‘the circle of giving’. Residents give their unwanted items; our volunteers give their time to staff the shop and residents buy the items that raises the money that can be used for grants.

If you’re planning a Spring clean, we’d be happy to take your items to help stock the shop. Parking is a bit tricky at the moment with the ongoing roadworks, so if you’d prefer they can collect from you, then just ring 07384 449774‬.

Our shop team is always seeking new volunteers to join the team, which can be for just a couple of hours each week.

Morsbags – www.Morsbags.com – is a national ‘sociable, guerrilla, bagging organisation’. They make attractive bags from donated scrap fabric and hand these out free of charge to use in place of those pesky plastic bags. If you’d like to join in, then they’d love to hear from you.
